Le Sirenuse: in the footsteps of Norman Douglas

The Path of the Sirenuse is so called because the view of the islets of Li Galli (precisely the Sirenuse) accompanies the hiker during almost the entire route.

It is certainly one of the most beautiful on the southern side of the Sorrento peninsula, an area so loved by the writer Norman Douglas who in his travel diary "The Land of the Sirens" said he preferred the southern part of the peninsula, where "the slopes fall steeply into sea and steep paths cross the olive trees that cling to the limestone rocks ".

The circular route starts from the Colli di Fontanelle, a fraction of Sant’Agnello so called due to the abundance of water sources which then dried up.

After crossing a chestnut wood, we reach the "Pizzetiello" (489 meters above sea level) where the distance from Li Galli is less than 3 km, and the view sweeps south from Praiano, up to the Faraglioni of Capri, and in the days of good visibility, you can also see Punta Licosa.

Continue until you reach Torca, a hilly village of Massalubrense crossing a variety of environments including vegetable gardens, olive groves, garrigue and Mediterranean scrub, with mastic, myrtle, heather, broom, rock roses, an oak grove and the Tore pine forest.
