Wine & Mount Vesuvius: from the Roman villa to a modern winery

The ancient Romans knew  Mount Vesuvius for the excellent wines that were produced in the area, which are also mentioned several times in literature.

The visit begins with the Villa Regina, a rustic Roman villa dating back to the I century BC. The wine cellar with 18 «dolia» is still clearly visible together with the torcularium that housed the press, the vat for pressing the grapes and a container to collect the must. Around the villa stood the agricultural area, especially vines, as evidenced by the casts of the roots of the plants.

The wine, the cuisine and the territory: there is a thin thread that links the magic of this landscape at the foot of Mount Vesuvius with its gastronomic traditions and above all with the passion for Lacryma Christi, the wine that comes from this land. A unique experience made of nature and emotions, taste and traditions of Vesuvius that begins with a walk through the vineyards admiring the view that embraces the Gulf of Naples, Sorrento and the island of Capri.

We then move on to visit the cellars where you can learn about the production methods before starting the wine tasting paired with local specialties.
